WebWe will include RCTs that used a standard TENS device irrespective of the term to describe the type of TENS technique (eg, conventional TENS, acupuncture-like TENS, high-frequency-low-intensity, low-frequency-high intensity and so on). We will exclude RCTs that did not use pulsed electrical currents. WebThe frequency is the number of electrical pulses per second; high-frequency pulses help manage acute (short-term) pain whereas low-frequency is better for treating chronic pain. TENS devices affect people differently, with some people’s pain only being relieved when using the device and others experiencing pain relief for up to 24 hours after use.
