Went to view a car today and there was thick black sludge deposits on the length of the dipstick and oozing out of top of the dipstick hole and the oil filler cap had thick white gunk and more of the same sludge in it. Webb7 maj 2024 · I had gunk on my transmission dipstick. It turned out to be magnetic and came from rusting inside the dipstick tube. The Ford dealer said they have seen it before and they figured it was caused by condensation inside the long tube. They recommended a flush and filter change. They also swabbed the inside on the tube.
