Two subspecies are recognised, although some authorities consider it to be conspecific … Webyesterday i had 2 black topped orange head and under body birds in our yard in nth ryde, sydney. i do have pics, tho they are in shadow. everyone say's king parrot however all images i have seen on the net appear green and orange. when i first saw them on the lawn they were not in shadow, and definately black/orange not green/orange.
