WebI am in the same boat as you. I used the citristrip on a dresser and I also hate the mess it makes. My plan is to use Goof Off to take the rest of the old finish off. Then a water wash to get all the crap off and then mineral spirits to officially clean it before staining. I am not a fan of citristrip either.
